Quotes on vegetarianism
Goats grazing in the wild know well that lion is their enemy because it pounces upon them no sooner than it sees them. Same goats brought home and domesticated by man start considering him their friend. They know not that the very person who rears them & feeds them will slaughter them one day to satiate his taste buds. Man is the only animal that can remain on friendly terms with the victims he intends to eat until he eats them (- Samuel Butler). Here are some great quotes on vegetarianism by some great personalities. This collection of quotes on vegetarianism is dedicated to the well being of all beings.
We say we are civilized. We talk of justice, humanity, equality, coexistence & what not.
Yet this is what we do & support.

People often say that humans have always eaten animals, as if this is a justification for continuing the practice. According to this logic, we should not try to prevent people from murdering other people, since this has also been done since the earliest of times.
- Isaac Bashevis Singer (eZaroorat – Quotes on vegetarianism)
For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love.

A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite.

Recognize meat for what it really is: the antibiotic- and pesticide-laden corpse of a tortured animal.

God knows that I’ve crawled on occasion, and I’m glad that no one ate me.
- Alex Poulos (eZaroorat – Quotes on vegetarianism)
One farmer says to me, “You cannot live on vegetable food solely, for it furnishes nothing to make the bones with;” and so he religiously devotes a part of his day to supplying himself with the raw material of bones; walking all the while he talks behind his oxen, which, with vegetable-made bones, jerk him and his lumbering plow along in spite of every obstacle.
- Henry David Thoreau (eZaroorat – Quotes on vegetarianism)
My situation is a solemn one. Life is offered to me on condition of eating beefsteaks. But death is better than cannibalism. My will contains directions for my funeral, which will be followed not by mourning coaches, but by oxen, sheep, flocks of poultry, and a small traveling aquarium of live fish, all wearing white scarfs in honor of the man who perished rather than eat his fellow creatures.

Great quotes, not all of those people were vegetarians though. Mark Twain is argued about. Edison wasn’t, except one time on doctor orders when recovering for an illness.
Nice quotes, however some vegeterians don’t respect people who eat meat…I think they should be more tolerant.
I love your quotes. It makes me sad that leonardo di vinci spoke on this so many centuries ago and yet the meat greed of the western world has reached epidemic proportions today. I, my husband and my two daughters are vegan, and this makes us very happy. Thanks for your quotes.
vegetarianism should be promoted more. eating more veggies, fruit, and whole grains instead of meat or poultry is a necessary step toward a plant-based diet
