They say that right brained people do very well with anagrams.
I tend to think that doing well with anagrams takes contribution from both sides of the brain.
The right side to analyze and the left side to see the big picture, to intuit what is being communicated.
It is said by prominent business leaders that while the right brain was the portion of the brain so important in the 20th century (nothing but the facts, Madam), the integrated brain will rule in the 21st.
Anagrams are a good test to see if a person’s whole brain if functioning in an integrated manner.
The following right/left brain behaviors will shine in the 21st:
-Symphony – The ability to synthesize; to take the facts and create something new with them;
-Play – The ability to lead while keeping it fun
-Meaning – Being able to encourage the business and professional marketplaces to take on more than their dry factual essences.
Design – The ability to bring beauty into the world as one provides goods or services.
Story – The ability to change facts into a narrative for people to remember.
Empathy – The ability to understand what is going on with others and adjust behaviors while doing that.
This may seem to be way off the subject of anagrams, but that’s not so.
A successful “anagramist” must be able to use skills from all six categories.
Doing anagrams, we are playfully transcending the facts and bringing added meaning into the world.
So, doing these anagrams is great practice for success in business and the professions for the foreseeable future, at least for the next 90 years.
I like the internet chat rooms one. I enjoy reading what can be found in the phrases but I could never find a phrase on my own.
@Gaston & Mari I must be nobrained because I’m really bad at word puzzles like these.
